The German lessons at the Sprachenatelier are held as intensive courses from beginners (A1) to advanced
(C2) in small international groups on an average of six to ten students. Our students can also choose to take private instruction where they can benefit from one-on-one tuition.
In addition Sprachenatelier offers evening courses for those who have no time during the day to learn German. These evening courses usually take place twice a week.
All of our teachers for DaF (German as a foreign language) teachers have studied at German Universities. The lessons are communicative and include the use of new media (Computer and Internet).
The lessons are held in German even at beginner's level. Knowledge of foreign languages is not required. Nearly all of our teachers speak English, Spanish and/or another foreign language – but not in the class. Lessons are exclusively held in German.
The Sprachenatelier also offers preparation for all German examinations, as for example Zertifikat Deutsch (ZD), Zentrale Mittelstufenprüfung (ZMP) and TestDaF/DSH. This takes place both in the regular intensive courses as well as in specific exam-preparation courses.
In our German courses, a great variety of teaching methods are employed. As every learning group is different, our teachers treat the groups individually, use flexible teaching methods and aim the lessons at the students' necessities.
As we attach great importance to communication, German lessons at the Sprachenatelier include even in the courses for beginners grammar, sentence structure and vocabulary. Naturally listening and reading comprehension as well as written exercises are components of all our German courses.
Learning a new language always means gaining access to a new culture. Therefore, in our German courses students learn not only the German language but also about the German culture: History, politics, literature, films, and art are included in the curriculum of Sprachenatelier's German courses.
